IPA or Indian Pale Ale is a beer style characterised by the use of high levels of hops. It gained its name from British India and other outposts of the British Empire during the 19th Century. The British that was based there wanted to drink beer from home and as a result of an IPA’s ability to last the long voyages, this style gained popularity. The ability of the beer to stay fresh for longer comes from Hop acids, more of these in the recipe makes the beer last longer. IPA has had a recent surge in popularity and is now the most popular style of craft beer in the world. We’ve blended English and American Hops to create a powerful hop flavour in this Pale Ale with Oats and Wheat in the grist to provide a smooth rounded finish.
